Beyond Self-Care: Cultivating a Culture of Compassion Satisfaction in Human Service Work

April 13, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:45 pm

Guest speaker Dr. Karen Bluth, researcher, teacher, author of “The Self-Compassion Workbook for Teens”, and co-author of three “Stress Busting Survival Guides”, will lecture with MSW Candidate and Compassion Fatigue Specialist Sabrina Basquez about Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), secondary traumatic stress, and burnout. Join us to learn what compassion fatigue looks like and how to begin healing not only as individuals but as a community. Together we can cultivate a culture that acknowledges and responds to the unique challenges inherent in the work that human service workers do every day. Current and future social workers, counselors, nurses, doctors, and all human service caretakers are welcome.
